Overview: Digital Roads completed more than 63 projects for EnCana Oil and Gas. The majority of these have been conference room presentation systems with videoconferencing and Crestron control. Conference rooms have ranged in size and complexity but all received basic presentation with one or two displays. The larger conference rooms all received integrated Polycom videoconferencing systems. All rooms have Crestron control and Polyvision Room Wizards for scheduling. In addition to the standard conference rooms there were also two high end Executive Board Rooms.
The construction schedule was aggressive; however, the team was top notch so coordination was excellent. Staff moves were planned well in advance so on time completion was essential. The building presented some challenges due to the multiple floors and the fact that not all 11 floors were aligned contiguously. The Peak Learning Center was DRI’s largest project to date. Located on the 40th floor of the prestigious Republic Plaza building in downtown Denver it is a premier training center for new hires.
System designs for conference rooms incorporated three different standards in order to make deployment and service more efficient and cost effective. Each type of system had a back-up rack that could be quickly replaced and serviced off site in order to keep all meeting rooms operational.
The Peak Learning Center system design allows for total matrix switching of video between classrooms. This can be used to accommodate large numbers of students while leveraging instructors. The infrastructure for this project is all HD video (RGBHV) including digital signage, video conferencing and divided room presentation systems. The Polycom codec is not HD, however, the room configuration and infrastructure will support this addition in the future. A central control room manages all systems – background music/paging/sound masking, lobby video, digital signage and routing to support meetings/training events. IP based ceiling mounted cameras tie into the master security system and also provide local video to the control room. A Digital Signage system was also installed in 2007 for all 11 floors.
