Digital Roads Inc. was founded in 1998 by Mary and Shelby Hood . Mary's background as a registered nurse, administrator, quality assurance director and educator is a little odd for the owner of a technology company. Listening to problems and developing custom solutions are established skills for Mary. Mary handles the people side of the business – HR, Sales, QA and vendor relations. Mary also holds many technical certifications – ICIA CTS, Leviton Structured Cabling, Lutron Lighting Design and AMX Control and Media Management Systems Certification.
Shelby 's background is technology, business and service. Starting with communications training in the Navy back in the 60's, Shelby 's career path has been rich and varied. Computers.. Blood Analyzers.. CAD Software.. Security Systems, Satellites.. Technical
Service Manager.. IS Manager.. With an ITT Technical Degree, BS in Business and MS in Health Administration Shelby understands the technical needs of Business and Healthcare like few others in our industry.
Digital Roads Inc. is a family business that also employs two sons – Shelby and Justin Hood . Shelby IV is often referred to as Jr. although this is not his name – causality of working with your Dad who has the same name and trying not to confuse everyone. Shelby the fourth/Junior does inside sales and sales support. Justin is one of the lead technicians and also handles the field scheduling. Both are “CTS” certified technical specialists with Justin holding a CTS-I certification as well. Both share the passion for the business.
The remainder of Digital Roads' staff is also highly committed to the mission and vision of the company. Dennis Schmuker, CTS, was recently promoted to Engineering Manager. Dennis has his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and has many years of experience in audio-visual design. Joe Cantrell, CTS, our Crestron Master Level Programmer and Engineer has over 20 years of experience in the audio-visual industry. In addition to Dennis and Joe we also enjoy having on staff, Dustin Meselbas, CTS, who is a certified AMX programmer. To compliment our administrative staff and engineering department we have an outstanding Feild Operations Manager, James Hickey, CTS. James has been in the industry for many years and brings excellent project management skills to the table enabling projects to come together on time and within budget.
